Just in time – the first 15 days

One sixth of my challenge is in the books.  Things haven’t gone as good as I would have liked for them to, but the good news is that I can fix this, by making a decision and staying committed.  To do this, I need to stay focused on my goals.  I cannot let my mind wonder from the tasks that need to be completed.

This weekend, we attended a summit in Dallas and got to hear from some amazing speakers.  This was very uplifting to me and it got me to thinking and motivated me to make some major changes in my life.  I have made a decision to be more coachable and do the things that others won’t so that I have have things that others can’t.  Yeah that is a little cliché-ish, but I know it is true.  I have met and talked with people this weekend that have proven it to be true.

I talked to a really great friend this weekend where he asked me some very hard questions about my life.  This helped me with the thinking and to make the decision to sell out to the dreams that I want in life and go prove it to the people that I love.

Then yesterday I sat down with some others and did an evaluation of my strengths and weaknesses.  There is something very powerful about humbling yourself in this way.  It wasn’t like a corporate annual review, but it was an assessment of where I am and where I want to be.

This entire process is helping me to put myself on a better path for my life.  I am being proactive and a leader and have decided to design my own life, not just live it.  I heard this quote yesterday and thought it was awesome.  It said that we must start being human doings instead of human beings.

More to come later, I am going to spend my days human doing, how about you?
