Okay, so week 1 of my 90-day challenge is in the books. So of the goals that I set went down in flames, like turning off the TV. I didn’t realize how hard that would be with a Wife and two kids, but I am trying to spend some time each day without it anyway.
I am reading the book Getting Things Done by David Allen and putting it into use. After reading the first section of the book and hearing him talk about emptying your mind, I have found out some things about myself. I have been noticing that the last month or so, on Thursday nights, that I was spending time preparing my organizer and writing down things that needed my attention. Then I would put it up and go to bed. After a few weeks of this, I noticed how much better I felt on Friday mornings even with less sleep. I felt that I was getting more and better sleep that night than I have been the rest of the week. I now know that this comes from the fact that since I don’t have things in my mind then I can rest better with my subconscious mind not thinking about thing I need to remember.
I just started on the second section of this book last night, so I have a long way to go to implement this book fully into my life, but I will get there. I feel that it will make a big difference in my life in all areas. I am really impressed with it so far, even better than the Stephen Covey books. Here is the link to the book http://www.amazon.com/Getting-Things-Done-Stress-Free-Productivity/dp/0142000280/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244462406&sr=8-1.
Well, it is time to get up and check on the kid before going off to work today. I hope that everyone has a great week. Remember to look for the miracles that God has put in our lives each day.
